Waiver and Release of Liability

The National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF) is committed to creating a safe and healthy environment for all our community members: consumers, chapter members, providers, presenters, exhibitors, and staff. However, while vaccinations, negative COVID tests, observance of safety protocols, and exercise of personal discipline may reduce risk, an inherent risk of exposure to infectious diseases does remain in any public place where people are present. By participating in this Event, you must understand that you will participate at your own risk. Click here for additional information on NBDF's Duty of Care

  1. Assumption of Risk. I understand that infectious diseases can be extremely contagious and can lead to severe illness and death. I acknowledge my own desire and choice to travel to and participate in the Event, and I assume responsibility for my own well-being and accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading other infectious diseases in connection with attending the Event. I expressly acknowledge that I am participating in the Event completely voluntarily. I understand and agree that this includes claims based on the ordinary negligence of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent allowed by law. As a condition of NBDF allowing my participation in this event, I assume all risks, accept sole responsibility, and in no way hold the Foundation responsible for any bodily injury, illness, or death arising out of or related to exposure to or illness from an infectious disease in connection with my attendance at the Event, whether caused by the Released Parties or otherwise. This does not apply to conduct that cannot be waived by law, such as gross negligence, reckless conduct, or intentional misconduct.

  1. Waiver and Release. I waive and release the Foundation, its employees, Board of Directors, and/or those connected with the event from all claims for any liability, injury, death, loss, or damage in any way connected with or arising out of my participation in the Event.

  1. Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Foundation, its employees, Board of Directors, and/or those connected with the event from all claims for any liability, injury, death, loss, or damage that I willfully or recklessly cause during or in relation to my attendance or participation in the Event.

  1. Medical Attention. I authorize NBDF to obtain emergency medical help for me if needed. I understand I am responsible for any medical costs.

  1. Invalidity/Unenforceability. If any provision of this instrument is held to be invalid or unenforceable, this instrument shall be construed as if such valid or unenforceable provision were not contained herein.

Waiver and Release of Liability Acknowledgement:

  • I have read this waiver, release of liability, indemnification, and consent.

  • I understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it.

  • I am signing this waiver, release of liability, indemnification, and consent voluntarily, and I intend my signature to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law.

  • I agree to follow all instructions and safety precautions provided by the Foundation, venues, and any governing authorities during my attendance at the event, including the Duty of Care listed above. I understand and agree that my failure to do so may result in being excluded from the Event without refund, reimbursement, or other remuneration.

Recording/Photo Posting Policy

NBDF Conferences and Events consist of a variety of mediums such as audio-visual, remote, and interactive presentations. It is important that we continue to respect the privacy and intellectual property rights of our community - our speakers and our consumers. By participating in this event, you agree that you may not share or post any of the sessions or any photos from the sessions without prior written permission.

PHOTO RELEASE

  • I give permission to the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, also called “NBDF,” and its authorized partners (such as event photographers and videographers) to take and use photos, video, audio recordings, and screenshots of me during the conference and related event activities. NBDF may use these materials for NBDF purposes, including on-demand viewing after sessions, conference coverage, education, and promotion in print, online, and video formats.

  • I understand that I will not receive payment for this use. I understand that I do not own the photos or recordings, and I do not have the right to approve the final materials. I release NBDF and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, and partners from claims related to the use of these materials to the fullest extent allowed by law.

  • If I am registering on behalf of a minor, I confirm that I am the minor’s parent or legal guardian and I give this permission on the minor’s behalf.

Mail Solicitations

By registering for the Bleeding Disorders Conference, attendees agree to receive mail and/or email from NBDF on behalf of manufacturers promoting booth visits, social/networking events, and educational symposia held during the Conference. Use of the NBDF's Bleeding Disorders Conference logo on pre- and post-conference mailers sent on behalf of exhibitors does not indicate an endorsement of any product or service by NBDF.

Unauthorized Housing

Please be vigilant if approached by any company or service that implies or claims to be an official housing provider for NBDF's Bleeding Disorders Conference. We have been made aware of housing companies or travel agencies that may aggressively pursue BDC attendees to book guest rooms through their company at supposedly significant discounts and with more flexible cancellation policies. Some emails may be phishing attempts, so be careful before clicking any links or providing credit card information. The only way to book group accommodations and hospitality suites for the Bleeding Disorders Conference is through NBDF’s Conference and Travel Services department. NBDF is not liable for any losses for any reservations made outside of NBDF’s room block. If you are contacted by an unauthorized housing company or receive a suspicious email, please contact us immediately.
