CE Credits for HCP Tracks

CME/CE for Healthcare Professionals

Activity Description

NBDF promotes an integrated, comprehensive treatment care model that supports individuals and families affected by coagulation disorders. As part of NBDF’s commitment to this model of care delivery, our annual bleeding disorders conferences offer over two days of educational sessions designed for the core HTC provider disciplines.

Each of the four provider education tracks (Medical, Nursing, Social Work, and Physical Therapy) featured at BDC has been planned by leading provider peer representatives working in these distinct disciplines. These volunteers help NBDF to develop key topics, select speakers, and implement sessions tailored to meet the specific educational needs for delivering quality medical care to individuals living with coagulation disorders.

Target Audience

This education activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, clinical social workers, and physical therapists.

Educational Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:

  • Utilize findings from the latest research studies and current professional guidelines in addressing the care of patients living with bleeding disorders and how these findings translate into direct patient diagnostics and treatment plans.
  • Identify common and pathological symptoms experienced by patients with bleeding disorders, what roles are assumed by healthcare providers and patients/caregivers, and what treatments are applied in the care of the identified symptoms.
  • Identify existing and emerging barriers to the access of hemophilia treatment centers for diverse populations with inheritable bleeding disorders and mitigation strategies.
  • Discuss the importance of including a multidisciplinary team in the comprehensive care of people with bleeding disorders.
